The
University Assembly (UA) is the governing body at Cornell
University which is comprised of 21 voting members; six
undergraduate students, three graduate and/or professional
students, five employees, and seven faculty. In addition,
the following are members of the Assembly, without vote:
The Vice President for Student & Academic Services,
the Senior Vice President, another member of the central
administration appointed by the President, and the Chair
of the Committee on Minority Affairs.
The
UA examines matters which involve the interests or concern
the welfare of a substantial segment of the University
community and makes recommendations to the appropriate
officers or decision-making bodies of the University.
Recommendations usually will be made via the President.
