Associated Resolutions

Resolution Abstract Status
SA R46 (2024-2025): Amendments to the Student Assembly Charter Appendix A and B This resolution outlines the new amendments that should be considered when approaching Appendices A and B of the Student Assembly Charter. Accepted by the President
SA R50 (2024-2025): Ensuring Fair Course Access for Student Athletes The Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) proposes early enrollment for student-athletes in the form of gaining access to eight (8) credit pre-enrollment one hour earlier than their respective class year. Acknowledged by the President
SA R52 (2024-2025): Sustainability Theme Year Resolution A resolution calling for a Sustainability Theme year for 2025-2026. Acknowledged by the President
SA R53 (2024-2025): Enhancing Federal Healthcare Access at Cornell Health This resolution calls on Cornell University to expand and strengthen Medicaid and Medicare access at Cornell Health by addressing existing service gaps, improving navigation, and aligning waiver and referral systems with federal coverage standards. Although Cornell currently accepts Medicaid for medical services (excluding pharmacy) and cannot directly bill Medicare, this resolution outlines actionable steps to reduce out-of-pocket costs, enhance care coordination, and promote health equity for federally insured students. Acknowledged by the President
SA R54 (2024-2025): Expanding Free and Subsidized Student Parking at Cornell University This resolution proposes that Cornell University expand access to free and subsidized parking for students across campus. The current parking permit system imposes high costs that disproportionately affect low-income, commuter, and off-campus students, many of whom depend on vehicles to access education, employment, caregiving responsibilities, and essential services. By reducing or waiving parking fees for eligible students, Cornell can remove structural transportation barriers and promote equity and campus accessibility Acknowledged by the President
SA R55 (2024-2025): Approval of SAIFC’s Spring 2025 Recommendation This resolution provides for the disbursement of $33,701.67 to 4 applications submitted to the Student Assembly Infrastructure Fund Commission (SAIFC) by April 25th, 2025. Accepted by the President
SA R56 (2024-2025): Commending the Service of Jessica Withers and Erik Kalweit In their roles as Director and Senior Coordinator, Jessica Withers and Erik Kalweit have served in the Office of the Assemblies. In that time, they have continually served the Student Assembly and have provided this body with the support necessary to run Cornell’s student government. This resolution commends Jessica and Erik for their dedication and continued service to the Cornell community. Adopted by the Assembly
SA R57 (2024-2025): Commending Alhassan Bangura ‘25 for his Service to the Student Assembly This resolution commends Alhassan Bangura ‘25 for his service to the Student Assembly as co-founder and Director Emeritus of the Office of Ethics. Adopted by the Assembly
SA R58 (2024-2025): Protecting Student Programming Against Censorship This resolution is intended to protect the autonomy and freedom of expression of Student Programming organizations. Acknowledged by the President
SA R59 (2024-2025): Implementing Comprehensive Nutritional Labeling in Cornell Dining Halls This resolution calls on Cornell Dining to enhance existing food signage in all residential dining halls by adding detailed nutritional information—including calorie counts and macronutrient/micronutrient content—to the small index card-sized labels currently used to display food names, dietary markers (e.g., vegan/vegetarian), and allergen warnings. Although some nutrition data is available online, it is inconsistently maintained and not always accessible at the point of service. This resolution proposes integrating standardized nutritional information directly onto the in-hall labels to support health equity, informed eating, and dietary transparency. Accepted by the President
