Hey everyone!
I’m Daniyal, a sophomore transfer in Global Development from CALS, from Boston. Earlier this semester, I hosted a big event for CALS transfer students at the Dairy Bar and got to meet a bunch of you there!
A bit about me - I’ve founded two companies, an AI education company helping students learn more about emerging tech and a solar array adoption company. I’ve planned many community events in my previous student government and led youth groups with 100+ members.
Mental health is a big issue. The last few weeks have been really tough as we’ve lost members of our community and have been trying to support one another through it. For transfers in a new community, it's made adjusting socially much harder.
I want to support our fellow students.
I’ll push for:
Mental Health Days: Giving students & staff mental health days every few months so we can all take a breather.
Leave of Absence: Students going through a rough time should be able to take a leave of absence without having to explain everything to professors.
Safe Spaces: Safe spaces where students can talk about life without stigma.
Community Events: Fun events so we can unwind and take a break from classes!
Let's build a safer and more welcoming Cornell together
