Hi all!
My name is Ella Hogan. I’m a freshman studying Government and History in CAS and I’m running to be your freshman representative.
As a student on financial aid and with a workstudy job, I share your concerns about the reliability of FAFSA right now. Like you, I’m shocked that Cornell is the only Ivy to include loans in their financial aid packages instead of meeting student need through grants. Cornell must prioritize its students and their financial stability. I will advocate for students like us.
Additionally, campus safety must be a priority. Everyone deserves to feel secure and valued. We need to improve the blue light system and create an open dialogue. I will work for that.
Student Assembly has a responsibility to listen to students and engage with our community, bridging administration and students. To that end, I will better the communication from Student Assembly to the student body.
Foremost, I will prioritize and listen to you. I don’t pretend to know all of the issues facing our diverse student body, so I will listen, learn, and engage. I’m always open to conversation, so feel free to email me at erh92@cornell.edu.
I will work for a tenacious, transparent, and effective Student Assembly that works for you.
