Hey Cornellians! My name is John Purcell and I am thrilled to be running for the Student Assembly Freshman Representative. While I've only been at Cornell for a few months, I’ve come to see how beautiful this school is, and how amazing the people that make this community as tight-knit as it is are. As Freshman Representative, I want to do everything in my power to provide a fun and exciting experience for all students. From planning events to alleviating student concerns, I want to have a say in the decisions that are impacting student life. As a member of the Student Assembly Communications Committee, I have already gotten to see the amazing work that the assembly is able to do, and I would be honored to have a higher position to allow for my ideas to be heard even more. I want to be a voice of the people, and I will use my position to share the thoughts and ideas of my fellow peers. I want to focus on creating more safe spaces for individuals in order to protect and care for the mental health of students. I also want to encourage more class social events! Please vote for me, John Purcell, as your Freshman Representative! I will work towards making Cornell as fun and fulfilling as it can be!
