More BRBs.
Academic support year-round.
Better ways to find clubs you care about.
I put ideas first here, just as I plan to in office. I’m Laerdon, and I’m excited to be running for Student Assembly.
Freshmen fight uphill battles—no major-specific advisors. No choice in housing or meal plan. No class registration priority. Limited access to research.
I envision a Cornell that serves us: through GUIDANCE, ACTIVITY, CHOICE, and TRANSPARENCY.
My A&S Advising Seminar only lasted a few weeks before it adjourned. Why not extend our peer counseling program, EARS, to academic counseling? Students can access guides who know 1) your intended field of study, and 2) the student experience. For clubs, I’ll work with project teams, business fraternities, and community engagement clubs alike to compile a catalog prioritizing first-year recruitment. And if we want to eat Trilium daily, we should have the choice—I’ll propose a freshman meal plan option with more BRBs.
You shouldn’t have to scour the Sun to hear about Student Assembly—if elected, you’ll hear it all right here @cornellforus.
And a Cornell For Us is exactly what I’ll work for with your vote. If you want to hear more, have ideas, please reach out!
Good luck with prelims,
Laerdon
