Dear B.J.,
Thank you for submission of E. A. Resolution #2 Advocating an Inclusive Branding. I share your appreciation for the thoughtful process employed by Dr. Christopher Dunn, Director of the Cornell Plantations, and Dean Kathryn Boor as they considered the name of the Cornell Plantations. Their efforts involved many staff, students, faculty and alumni, providing them important information about their perspectives regarding a potential name change. I also acknowledge the important role that the Employee Assembly played, over a number of years, in advancing the dialogue within our campus community around this important issue.
I will communicate your endorsement of the change of the name of the Cornell Plantations to the Cornell Botanic Gardens with the Board of Trustees when they deliberate on this recommendation in October.
Sincerely,
Hunter Rawlings
