Dear Hei Hei,Thank you for submitting EA R6: Support for Student Assembly Leadership from Racism, Threats and Harassment. I agree that racist and violent harassment has no place on our campus or in our public discourse. As reflected in our core values, we are committed to creating a community of belonging that values the importance of free and open inquiry. While it can be challenging to balance these two priorities, we can engage in difficult discussions while being respectful of both priorities.Vice President Ryan Lombardi and his team, as well as leaders across the university, reached out to and supported many of the Student Assembly members who were subjected to the harassment and threats referred to in the resolution. Although this support is not always visible to the broader community, they continue to stay connected to those students who have been directly affected.Once again, thank you for your thoughtful and supportive resolution.Sincerely,Martha E.
