    Dear President Pollack,
     
    I am happy to convey EA R7: Bereavement Policy to you for consideration.
     
    EAR7 is a formal request to add a more inclusive definition of ‘family’ to the University’s Funeral Leave Policy 6.9, page 15 and to incorporate a reasonable number of days off for travel to and from funeral services.
     
    I would like to thank Employee Assembly Benefits and Policy Committee Chair Brian Goodell and the entire committee membership for their hard work on this important issue.
