  Dear Richard, Thank you for sharing GPSA Resolution 4: Endorsement of the Best Practices for Faculty Advisers Document. I commend the GPSA for taking this initiative and thinking critically about the nature of mentoring relationships between advisers and graduate students. The Best Practices document has already been widely distributed through the Dean of Faculty’s office and is stimulating useful conversations across campus. I encourage you to work with Dean Knuth and the Graduate School to identify ways of sustaining this dialog in the future, perhaps by circulating the document annually or making it available to new members of the Graduate Faculty.
