    Dear Nate,

Thank you for conveying GPSA Resolution 8: “On Responses to the Recent Executive Order ‘Protecting the Nation From Foreign Terrorist Entry Into the United States’ by Cornell and Peers.” In the time since I issued my statement on January 29th there have been several positive developments, but we have also seen indications that much work remains to be done. The staff of the ISSO, the Graduate School, the Undergraduate Admissions Office and countless other Cornell units have reached out students and applicants to share information and offer resources and support. In classrooms and across campus, faculty and students have actively engaged in spirited dialog, recognizing how this topic touches upon core values of Cornell as a diverse and global community.

I encourage graduate and professional students to remain active on this topic, and I commit that the Cornell administration will continue to advocate on behalf of our community, working directly with elected officials at all levels of government.

    Sincerely,

    Hunter Rawlings

    Hunter Rawlings
    Interim President, Cornell University
