    President Rawlings,

I would like to communicate GPSA Resolution 9: Resolution Concerning Graduate Student Lecturers and Clarity of Admission Letters. This resolution expresses the desire of the GPSA to see greater specificity in admissions letters sent to graduate students before they come to Cornell. Currently, there is a general template provided by the graduate school, but there are certain key parts we believe are missing. In addition, there is some confusion among students appointed through the School of Continuing Education and Summer Sessions as to whether or not they are covered by the policies under 1.3, or through a different set of policies. We would like to see more information given to students appointed through SCESS so that they are fully aware of which policies govern their appointment. If a working group is convened to address these concerns, I would ask that a graduate student be invited to participate.

    Respectfully,
    Richard Walroth
