    Dear President Pollack,

It is my pleasure to convey GPSA Resolution 9: Extending Voting Membership to Standing Committee Chairpersons. This resolution amends the GPSA Charter to grant ex officio Voting Membership to the chairpersons of the GPSA standing committees. Previously, our committee chairpersons did not possess voting rights, unless those persons were also voting members. In granting ex officio voting rights to committee chairpersons, the assembly hopes to incentivize members to serve in these positions, which are essential to carrying out the work of the GPSA.

As a charter amendment affecting the section on Membership, this revision requires your approval to go into effect. The assembly hopes that you will favorably acknowledge this resolution, such that our committee chairpersons may assume these new privileges.

Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have questions or concerns.

    Respectfully Submitted,
