    Dear President Rawlings,

I would like to convey the Student Assembly’s 26th resolution of the year to you. This resolution requests that the Board of Trustees encourage the administration to have extensive and detailed community discussion on the Provost’s capital plan in the coming months, before a final vote by the Board of Trustees is taken.

Resolution 26 is Request for the Board of Trustees to encourage student and community involvement in further deliberation on the Provost’s capital plan.

This resolution requests the Cornell University Board of Trustees advises the Cornell University Administration to have extensive and detailed involvement of the community in the determination of a final plan. Specifically, the Student Assembly also requests the Board of Trustees not make a final determination on the proposal to increase students until there has been more extensive community involvement and analysis, as there is potential for wide-ranging implications of this particular decision. The Student Assembly would also like to request that the Board of Trustees dedicate itself to “shared governance” and encourage the administration to involve the community in making important long-term decisions.

The Student Assembly and I would also like to request this resolution be shared with the Chair of the Board of Trustees.

    Thank You,

    Jordan Berger
