    Dear President Garrett,
I would like to report the Student Assembly's first four resolutions of the year to you. I would like to reiterate some of the sentiments that have already been expressed to the Office of the President considering the dialogue that develops from presentation of resolutions by the Student Assembly. We hope that this is an opportunity to open up discussion about the most pressing and relevant issues for the student body. Without this consistent and reliable stream of communication, we as an assembly are unsure of what information is received by the Office of the President and what type of support and opinion exists. I would like to strongly urge your Office and cabinet to keep up with the practice of responding to all resolutions in some manner, despite the layers of administrative procedures that are sometimes associated with it.
Resolution 3 is "Student Assembly Bylaw Changeā€ The Student Assembly bylaws need to be updated with regards to internal elections, lines of communication with administrators, executive committee responsibilities, meeting procedures, committee structures, and events. The specific language under Article III Section I requests that the Student Assembly President have more direct access to the Deans of the 7 individual colleges to solicit their response on legislation or recommendations that the Provost cannot unilaterally comment on. There is also an amended appendix on the dashboard.

I am looking forward to hearing back from you. Thank you for your time and consideration.

    Kind regards,

    Juliana
