  Dear Sarah,
  
  Thank you for sharing Resolution 56: Hands-Only CPR Training for Freshmen. I agree that this is an important life skill, and am pleased that you are in conversation with the Faculty Advisory Committee on Athletics and Physical Education.
  
  I also understand that you are working on pilot training in the fall with the Physical Education department. This will be an important step in understanding the capacity of both the administration and Cornell EMS to manage such an educational mission, which of course only will be administered by certified instructors.
  
  Lastly, it is important to note that while Good Samaritan provisions do exist in New York State Health Law, they do not provide all-encompassing protection for someone giving emergency medical assistance.
