    Dear Jordan,

Thank you for sending me Student Assembly Resolution 7: Reconsidering Lighting on the Slope. I have been informed by the Campus Planning Department that there are no plans to install additional lighting on Library Slope now that each end of the slope has a lit path, with a string of four lampposts. Motion sensors are not deemed appropriate at this site, as the lights are intended to guide pedestrians from a distance to the safely lit paths and need to be seen; however, we are investigating ways to reduce the brightness of the lights in order to minimize glare. Lastly, the Campus Planning Department is investigating light color in their larger campus lighting planning efforts. I am very appreciative of the Student Assembly’s input on this topic, as is the Campus Planning Department.

    Sincerely,

    Hunter Rawlings
