    Hello President Kotlikoff,

I am pleased to share with you SA Resolution 7: Executive Governance Reform, Part 2(link is external), which was approved by unanimous consent of 25 members of the Student Assembly on December 5, 2024. This resolution was sponsored by the Officers as a follow-up to Resolution 2 and workshopped extensively over the Fall 2024 semester. Resolution 7 entails changes to the Charter, Bylaws, and Standing Rules of the Assembly.

    Edits to the Charter include:

    - Clarifying the presidential succession process

    - Adjusting Charter language to replace the abbreviation of "Student Assembly" from "SA" to "Assembly"

    - Minor housekeeping (such as grammar and formatting) edits to the Charter

    Edits to the Bylaws include:

Adding the Chief of Staff position to aid the President and Officers in internal operations, such as attendance tracking and new member training sessions

    - Adding the Vice President for Policy position to coordinate Assembly initiatives and advise members through the policy-development process

    - Establishing executive departments which will house existing committees to encourage communication between similar committees and create a clear internal reporting structure

Edits to the Standing Rules have been made either to follow edits made in the R7 Charter and Bylaws or make more efficient week-by-week Assembly operations.

Thank you in advance for your review of Resolution 7. Please reach out with any questions that I may help to clarify.

    All the best,

    Zora de Rham
