    Conveyed to the President
  • Summary / Notes:
    Good morning, President Pollack,

It is my pleasure to convey to you Resolution 75 - Establishing the Student Assembly Campus Pulse Committee and Addressing Transparency Issues. This resolution was a joint effort between myself, Jenny Loffelman, members of PPGA, members of the assembly and had counsel from Shura Gat and Marla Love. It passed unanimously and does three main things.

    1. It allows all byline organizations to select an individual from their executive board to serve as a non-voting ex-oficio member to the Student Assembly. While I have requested that future assembly leadership convey this to the byline organizations, I have also CC’d Karli Buday, the director of campus activities in hopes of getting this process started earlier.
    2. It adds additional mandatory anti-bias and stakeholder awareness training for incoming members of the Student Assembly.
    3. It creates a new committee of the Student Assembly, the Campus Pulse Committee that will operate similarly to SAIFC. This committee will be funded through a newly created endowed account through the transfer of funds that were previously discussed with SAFC. In light of the tremendous strain the student body has been put under this year due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, this committee will work to increase intergroup dialogue on campus and address pressing issues of the student body. Hopefully this committee will work to increase community cohesion through programmatic implementation and have a little more mobility to address urgent crises that impact our community. It will be staffed by multiple members of administration as well as student leaders.

    Best,
    Patrick Kuehl (He/Him)
    President of the Student Assembly
