Dear President Skorton,
It is with pleasure that I convey for your consideration UA Resolution 12 REVISED, "Charge to the Cornell Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee."
This Resolution was sponsored by Vice Chair Matthew Battaglia and passed by the full University Assembly at our meeting of May 5, 2015.
In the wake of several deaths this past academic year in traffic-related fatalities, this Resolution effectively calls upon the Cornell Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee (CBPC) to create a comprehensive bike and pedestrian plan that assesses safety conditions on campus, as well as to take proactive steps to improve overall bike and pedestrian safety, safety enforcement and education. It also requests the CBPC report back its progress to the Assembly no later than October 31, 2015.
On behalf of the Assembly,
Respectfully Submitted,
-Jim
