Dear Jim,

Thank you for the opportunity to review the University Assembly’s Resolution 14, which amends the Assembly Bylaws to appoint a liaison to the Student Insurance Advisory Committee (SIAC). I fully endorse creating this additional channel of communication between community members and the university administration regarding a topic of significant, shared concern. I am pleased to learn that the Assembly’s discussions with Dr. Janet Corson-Rikert and Vice President Susan Murphy ultimately led to the invitation from SIAC Chair Craig McAllister to appoint a liaison with full voting rights. I have every confidence that this action will benefit Cornell’s ongoing examination of student health insurance issues.
