Dear President Pollack,
It is my pleasure to convey to you UA Resolution #14, "Review of All Academic Major CIP Codes for Possible Reclassification under a STEM CIP Code." This resolution requests that the faculty and the administration review the CIP codes of all academic majors to evaluate if they might be able to be reclassified as STEM.
The resolution can be found here: https://cornell.box.com/s/y3puy8spl29ikhxe0cfxs39ecd4v9wyp
This is very important because international students who study STEM are allowed to remain in the United States for a longer period of time than those that do not, and if some of our programs could reasonably be classified as STEM, it would be very beneficial to those students to have their majors reflect that reality.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I appreciate your time and consideration.
Best,
Gabe
