Abstract: This resolution was passed on May 6, 2014 by a vote of 8-5-1. Unlike other the other Assemblies, this resolution said that “the University Assembly declares against divestment as proposed in Faculty Senate Resolution 10-13 because its positive effect would essentially be symbolic and, in of the opinion of the majority of the Assembly, as a symbolic act it does not rise to the level where a constraint should be levied on the investments contained in Cornell’s endowment.”
