He/Him
Hi everyone, my name is Ade Akisanya and I am running for Freshman Representative.
I am from rural southeastern Kentucky and attended an international boarding school in northeast Georgia. Living in that environment meant learning to navigate different cultures, communication styles, and expectations. As a student life assistant and ambassador, I helped mediate conflicts, support new students, and build a sense of belonging. That taught me patience, clarity, and how to create community with intention. Those values guide how I lead.
Our first year at Cornell is exciting but can also feel overwhelming. I want to help make this transition supportive, connected, and manageable.
My focus is simple: clarity, community, and care.
Making Cornell easier to navigate, creating more ways to connect, and helping every student thrive, not just get by.
My priorities:
Improve access to resources like reducing laundry congestion and keeping spaces such as RPCC open when students need them.
Make tutoring, study groups, and office hours easier to find and use.
Build stronger community by helping students connect across dorms and backgrounds.
I will listen. I will show up. I will represent us.
Thank you for your support.
