Hello everyone! My name is Anafer, and I’m excited for the opportunity to connect with you and help shape the future of our graduate and professional student community. I’ve always felt a strong pull toward spaces where ideas are exchanged and decisions are made—where listening leads to action. While I currently serve on GPSA committees, including helping plan the 2025 Gala, I’ve also attended most GPSA meetings simply to stay engaged and be part of the conversation. To me, leadership begins with showing up and creating space for others. My past roles as Vice President and Social Chair of my sorority, along with my involvement in the UofR undergraduate student government, taught me how to build community, strengthen communication, and lead with intention. Now as a graduate student in public health, I understand the importance of inclusive dialogue, transparency, and collaboration—values I would bring into this role. Being involved with GPSA has only deepened my passion for student advocacy. For that reason, I would love to be part of the change being made—ensuring every student voice is heard, valued, and represented. I would be honored to serve as your VP and help make GPSA a space where all feel welcome, supported, and empowered.
