To Apply as a Candidate:

  1. Review the details for the open seats listed above to determine the race in which you will run.
  2. Review the Election Rules to ensure your eligibility.
  3. Complete the online registration form.
    1. Include a 1250 character (maximum) Candidate Statement
    2. Attach a photo (or have one taken of you)
  4. Attend at least one Student Assembly meeting held weekly on Thursdays from 4:45 pm to 6:30 pm in the Memorial Room (Willard Straight Hall) or virtually via Zoom.

Important notes:

  • When considering which seats to run for, bear in mind that certain positions are reserved for members of a particular group. (E.g., the Freshman representatives must be freshman students, the Transfer representative must be a new transfer student, and college/school-specific positions must be held by someone enrolled in that particular college or school.)
  • If you believe a fellow candidate has altered the fairness of the election—either by violating the Student Assembly election rules, the Campus Code of Conduct, or otherwise—you may submit a Student Assembly Election Challenge Form. Challenge forms must be submitted to OA by Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 12:00pm.

If you have any questions or concerns, email the Student Assembly Elections Committee at sa-elections@cornell.edu.
