Cornell University

International Students Representative

Darin Lee

Global Development and Information Science

College of Agriculture and Life Sciences

Class of 2028

International students have consistently been left behind at every step of Cornell’s decision-making, whether in the admissions process or in support for career opportunities. If elected as International Students Representative, I will do everything in my power to change that.

Hi! My name is Darin Lee, and I am a sophomore from Hong Kong and Malaysia majoring in Global Development and Information Science in CALS. I am excited to run for International Students Representative on your Student Assembly, and I am committed to making Cornell a better place for the international students whose perspectives and experiences make this campus more diverse, vibrant, and globally connected.

If elected, I will focus on three things: stronger career resources for students pursuing opportunities both in the U.S. and internationally, including international alumni contact lists, networking events, and career panels; more intentional community-building across Cornell’s international student population through platforms such as ISA and other cultural organizations; and better communication around issues affecting international students, especially visa sponsorship and political developments.

College of Arts and Sciences

Class of 2029

My name is Tamar Tateladze, and I am a freshman at Cornell School of Arts & Sciences studying government. I am an international student from the country of Georgia.

I consider myself detail-oriented, quickly adaptable, a strong team player, consistent, and reliable.

I know how hard it is to live in a different country and feel like you have no support. That is why I am committed to fostering a strong international community at Cornell that helps and empowers one another. As your International Student Representative, I guarantee a reliable communication chain that ensures every international student voice is heard and accounted for.

As an active member of the Cornell International Student Association, where I currently advocate for the needs of international students, I believe this role will give me greater ability to work with administration and directly address our community’s needs.

Through my leadership experience and campus involvement, I am confident I am the right fit for this position. I am committed to dedicating my full attention to successfully serving as your International Student Representative.

I would be honored to have your support.
