Hi! My name is Kaitlyn Bell, I am running to be your Freshmen Rep because I hope to give back to Cornell in the same way it has given to me. As an ILR major, I am passionate about proper representation and making sure all students have their voices heard. I am a writer for the Cornell Daily Sun and am constantly trying to learn more about Cornell’s greater community to inform the student population. Through this and all of the new experiences I have had at Cornell I believe that I can handle this position with clarity, confidence and passion. But, why should you vote for me? I care about all issues, big and small, you may be experiencing here. The water fountain is broken, that is a big deal. You feel underrepresented, that is a big deal. It all matters because your voice matters! I also believe that we deserve to have a lot of autonomy in student matters, whether it be serious or fun, I am here to provide those opportunities to you. And as your Freshman Rep, I’ll prioritize creating opportunities for everyone—whether that’s events, access to resources, or, FREE Cornell merch. Your representation shouldn’t come at a price, and a few freebies never hurt! I hope you consider voting for me, Go Big Red!
