  Attended:  Sue Willcox, Kathy Sheils, Laura Johnson-Kelly, Dustin Darnell, Allan Bishop, Lauran Jacoby

  Guest Speaker:  Gordon Barger

  Points of discussion:

  • This committee has not been active for some time.  Allan has attended some EA meetings to discuss policy updates.
  • Allan and Lauren view this committee as a way to receive feedback on significant HR policy changes.
  • Laura asked whether this committee or the Welfare Committee should handle an issue that applies to Graduate and Professional Students (two areas that we do not represent).  Allan and Lauren do not represent the policy that she is referring to.  It’s an odd overlap where the EA would represent those individuals who qualify as employees.
  • Can we get Gordon on the 11/1 EA meeting agenda to do this same presentation?  (Sue to email Ulysses)

   

  Gordon Barger

  • Shared a presentation regarding the NY Paid Family Leave which takes effect 1/1/18.
  • NYS continues to provide clarification on the details of the program and compliance requirements.
  • Committee recommended that Gordon provide the presentation to the full EA at a future meeting (possibly 11/1)
