SA R20 (2016-2017): Student Assembly’s Support for and Input on “Options for Achieving a Carbon Neutral Campus by 2035 This resolution seeks to support Cornell University’s commitment to carbon neutrality by a firm deadline of 2035 and push for transparent, shared decision-making in reaching carbon neutrality through the creation of a publicly accessible platform for annual update reports.<br /> Deferred by the President
SA R21 (2016-2017): Approving the Spring 2017 Election Rules This resolution seeks to update the election rules that govern Student Assembly seats elected in Fall 2016. Acknowledged by the President
SA R22 (2016-2017): Amendments to Appendix B for Collegiate Readership Changes This resolution proposes changes to the Collegiate Readership Program guidelines in Appendix B of the Student Assembly Charter to adhere to Resolution 16 and Appendix A. Deferred by the President
SA R23 (2016-2017): Declaring Cornell University a Sanctuary Campus This resolution calls for Cornell administration to declare Cornell University a “Sanctuary Campus” in the wake of claims made by U.S. President-elect Donald Trump and his advisers concerning potential immigration policy. It also calls on the administration to affirm its commitment to the most vulnerable members of our community. As a sanctuary campus, Cornell would declare its intent to not cooperate with US Immigration and Customs Enforcement efforts to locate members of the Cornell community and commit to guaranteeing funding for DACA students. SA R24 (2016-2017): Approval of Student Activities Funding Commission (SAFC) Charter This resolution presents changes to the Student Activities Funding Commission (SAFC) governing documents for Student Assembly approval. Accepted by the President
SA R25 (2016-2017): Expanding Ideological Diversity among Faculty Members The Student Assembly requests the Faculty Senate create an ad-hoc committee to investigate ways to increase and improve faculty ideological diversity. Rejected by the Assembly
SA R26 (2016-2017): Request for the Board of Trustees to refrain from adopting the Provost’s capital plan until further community input is received The Student Assembly requests that the Board of Trustees not approve the Provost’s capital plan at their next meeting, but instead wait for further community input.
