| Resolution | Abstract | Status |
|---|---|---|
| SA R9 (2026-2027): Expanding the Office of Ethics and the Office of Elections, Requiring Continuity of Membership, and Establishing an ROTC Liaison | This resolution amends Article VI, Section 7 of the Student Assembly Bylaws to expand the Office of Ethics from seven to nine voting members and the Office of Elections from nine to thirteen voting members. It further requires that, in constituting each incoming Office, a majority of seats be filled by returning members and a set number of seats be reserved for members who have not previously served, so that neither Office loses its institutional knowledge in a single turnover cycle. It further amends Article I, Section 3 to grant the ROTC community a non-voting liaison seat on the Assembly. | In Discussion |
| SA R10 (2026-2027): Upholding Cornell's Health Excuse Policy and Ending Faculty Requests for Medical Notes | This resolution calls on the Office of the Dean of Faculty and the Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education to enforce existing University policy, which does not allow instructors to require doctor’s notes for short-term illness. Cornell Health does not write these notes, so students who are asked for one must either pay an outside provider or accept an academic penalty. The resolution recommends a semesterly reminder to instructors, standard syllabus language, and a clear point of contact for students who are still asked for documentation. | In Discussion |
