Savanna Hotaling

slh266@cornell.eduLess than 5 Years of Service Representative At-Large (Term ends Spring 2022) It would be my honor to serve the staff at Cornell as a representative of the Employee Assembly. I have 4 years of service to the Cornell veterinary hospital and am proud of that. My goal as a general representative would be to bring my perspective from the vet hospital to the assembly. I see unlimited potential within the dvm community and would enjoy the opportunity to take part in seeing some of my colleagues and my ideas come to life. Being open minded and inclusive to are my thoughts on how to find ways to make Cornell the best place it can be for the teams that are within the college currently.

Jeremy Stewart

jrs637@cornell.eduLess than 5 Years of Service Representative At-Large (Term ends Spring 2022) My name is Jeremy Stewart and I'm the Nutrition & General Health Outreach Educator for the Cornell University Wellness Program. I'm seeking to run for the "Less than 5 Years of Service Representative At-Large" position. In this role I hope to provide an inclusive & diverse voice that will support the health, wellness, and growth to the entire Cornell community.

Justin Chandler

jlc499@cornell.eduRepresentative At-Large (Term ends Spring 2023) I currently serve as an Assistant University Registrar overseeing compliance initiatives. As a Representative At-Large, I would work to advance the goals of the university while ensuring all voices are heard and represented at the EA level. As an institution, we cannot make progress until all of us are fully included. I will also use my human capital development experience to advance employee development. The following are some specific goals I would like to advance as your EA Representative:
  • Ensure employee health and well-being concerns are addressed, particularly safe and inclusive workspaces, and mental health.
  • Create ways to stay connected across the university while working remotely.
  • Address systemic injustices within our campus, local, state, and national communities.
  • Respect differing opinions and be mindful that differences are what allows us to grow both individually and as an institution.
  • Improve staff morale and retention by developing recognition programs, focusing on specialized career development, and promoting flexibility in the workplace.
Cornell is a special place, and I would be both honored and humbled to serve as your Representative At-Large. I hope I can count on your support.

Adrian Durant

akd72@cornell.eduRepresentative At-Large (Term ends Spring 2023) My name is Adrian Durant and I am the Head coach of the Men's Track and Field team here at Cornell.  I've been at Cornell for a little over 8 years now and have been mostly focused on my team and it's operation.  But being the head of the most diverse team on campus, I am very interested in the decision making process at Cornell.  I'd like to make sure that myself and others who look like me are represented at all levels and have a voice in the conversation.  Thank you.-Adrian Durant

Ellie Krumm

esk96@cornell.eduRepresentative At-Large (Term ends Spring 2023) Hi! I’m Ellie (she/her), When I first came to Cornell in 2017, after working for a private company for over 15 years, I was excited to belong and be a part of everything Cornell!  However, I found my off-campus office was not as involved as I desired to be, and finding, subscribing, and sorting out information on various websites and newsletters to be rather cumbersome.  Thankfully a few years ago I became involved with the EA Communication Committee and was pleased to find they are advocates of the importance of providing everyone with an opportunity to sit at the decision-making table and a great resource for being involved.
As an elected official I aim to contribute further by continuing to provide the Cornell community with a variety of opportunities for involvement, mentorship, and inclusion, connecting to those who feel lost in Cornell’s vastness, who desire to be involved, but feel alone in their quest. Additionally, with so many of us working from home or altered schedules, work-life balance is of utmost importance to me.  I believe our job as elected Employee Assembly members is to reflect the Cornell campus as a whole, allowing our voices to be heard and aid in making suggested solutions become a reality.

Alan Martinez

amm372@cornell.eduRepresentative At-Large (Term ends Spring 2023) Hello, my name is Alan Martinez, and my pronouns are he/him/el. I am running for the position of Representative At-Large because I want to continue my involvement in the Cornell community. As a former member of the College of Human Ecology Employee Rejuvenation Committee (CHEER), I advocated for greater accessibility, diversity, equity, and inclusion at our events so that every employee felt a sense of belonging and community. As part of the EA, I will continue this effort and advocate on behalf of all employees to make sure all voices are heard. I hope I can count on your support!

Stephanie Resue

smr242@cornell.eduCollege of Architecture, Art & Planning Representative (Term ends Spring 2024) Having a voice as an employee has always been important to me. It is very easy to get bogged down in everyday responsibilities and put your thoughts/concerns/ideas on what might make your office/department/college a better or more inclusive and open space. I would like to push myself further and not only continue to advocate for myself, but for other staff members in the College of Architecture, Art and Planning.  Staff morale and communication has been declining and I want to be a positive force to represent everyone and help to support their concerns and how to bolster a more understanding and open environment for everyone. In addition to morale, I also want to be a positive force in developing a stronger collaborative environment in decision-making across the college in conjunction with the entire university. Many decisions tend to be made at a high level with little to no staff input on their thoughts and ideas. I want to help to change this culture and develop an environment that promotes positive change and includes input from all parties that these decisions impact.

Annyce Schafft

at44@cornell.eduSchool of Continuing Education, Summer Sessions and eCornell Representative (Term ends Spring 2024) The unit I seek to represent is very dynamic and brings a unique perspective to the university. We became more closely linked with Cornell in January 2019 when we moved from a fully-owned subsidiary of the university to join with Continuing Ed and Summer Sessions and form a new unit.  I've been part of eCornell since 2018 and I've seen the impact of these structural changes both on eCornell and on Cornell. Earlier in my career at Cornell, I worked in human resources in Residence life (formerly Campus Life, then in the division of Student and Academic Services) before moving to Penn State, where I was a diversity planning analyst in the Office of the President. These roles gave me experience acting as a conduit of information between groups. I am also interested in organizational change, particularly how individual employees and the larger administration can work together to bring about change. As an instructional designer, I see a fairly wide view of the processes within eCornell. My collaboration with faculty partners gives me some access to Cornell issues, but being part of the employee assembly would allow me to further develop my understanding of larger institutional issues and bring those back to my colleagues.
