Hi! My name is Ruoxi Wang, and I’m a freshman in Dyson. Moving abroad for the first time, leaving my home, family, and comfort zone, was a big step. I know the challenges of adapting to a new environment and, for that, I believe I can be the voice for those who, like me, face each day with fear and resilience.
As a former student council member and president of my high school debate team, I am equipped with leadership and advocacy. Leading a team I dedicated six years to taught me persistence, empathy, and the power of listening. I understand that being a representative at Cornell means taking on an immense responsibility, but I am determined to be that compassionate advocate who truly recognizes everyone’s needs.
As your freshman representative, I aim to actively listen and advocate for every voice within our class. I am a deeply sympathetic and I believe that everyone deserves to be heard and valued. The past few days have been deeply challenging for all of us. In this time, what we truly need is a strong support system and I hope to be that support for each of you as we move forward together.
I’d be so honored, proud, and excited to be your voice, so trust in me and I thank you all for considering me as your representative.
