UA R8 (2014-2015): Accepted by the President
Dear Jim,
Thank you for sharing with me the University Assembly’s Resolution 8 (Revised), which updates the Assembly Bylaws to match the revised Charter of the Campus Planning Committee. The resulting alignment satisfies the requirement that both the Assembly and the responsible administrative unit approve changes to the charge of an associated committee of the Assembly. I am pleased to learn that the Assembly participated in the CPC’s six-month process of reviewing and updating its Charter.
Regards,
David

GPSA R9 (2014-2015): Deferred by the President
Dear Richard:
I appreciate the GPSA’s resolution in support of Assistant Dean Joseph Scaffido. Cornell University strives to promote the peaceful, honest, and responsible exchange of ideas while rejecting, in the strongest terms, any incitement to violence. The heavily edited video released by Project Veritas was a flagrant and malicious attempt to misrepresent these Cornell values.

Dear Richard:
EA R4 (2014-2015): Implemented
Dear Greg,
Thank you for all that you and your colleagues do in support of the hard working staff at Cornell. I have considered E.A Resolution #4, which proposes a change to the election schedule. Currently Section 3.5.2 Filling Regular Vacancies by Elections and states that elections must be completed and results tabulated no later than the last day of March. Your rationale for to change the election schedule in order to increase the time available to promote EA elections is practical and I support this effort.

President Skorton –
Attached is EA Resolution 4 – Elections Calendar Charter Change. The resolution slightly modifies our elections calendar to better serve the needs of the staff community. We hope that by pushing our elections later in the semester we will have time to better engage staff and see an increase in participation. If you have any questions please let me know.
Best,
Greg

EA R3 (2014-2015): Accepted by the President
Dear Greg,
I am pleased to accept EA Resolution #3, In Gratitude of our Caring Community. This resolution beautifully pays tribute to the support and concern shown by so many members of the Cornell Community during and after the tragic accident on January 26, 2015 that took the life of staff member Angela Stedwell.

EA R6 (2014-2015): Adopted by the Assembly
Dear Greg,
Thank you for submitting EA Resolution 6, One Year Terms for Newly Elected Members, in 2015-2016. I appreciate the EA’s efforts to consider its structure in order to better serve the needs of Cornell staff in the future. I understand that the work of the EA Elections Taskforce, which presented new options for the structure and composition of the EA, requires time for consideration and implementation.
