Public Notice of Challenges: 2026 Student-Elected Trustee Election
Pursuant to the 2026 Student- and Employee-Elected Trustee Procedures, section VII, challenges are hereby posted:
Committee for Campus-Constituency-Elected Trustees determination, September 29, 2026:
Five members of the Committee for Campus-Constituency-Elected Trustees met in closed session on September 29 to review two challenges filed in the 2026 Graduate and Professional Student-Elected Trustee Election. Under the Student- and Employee-Elected Trustee Procedures, a challenge must be filed “within the earlier of (a) 72 hours of the challenger learning of the alleged violation or (b) 24 hours following the end of the voting period specified in the Election Calendar…” Section VIII(5). For a challenge to be upheld and a candidate disqualified, two-thirds of the CCCET members present must find, by a preponderance of the evidence, that “a candidate has committed a violation of the rules set forth in these Procedures serious enough to have potentially altered the result of the election.” Section VIII(8) & (9).
After carefully considering the challenges and the responses, by a 4-1 vote of the members present, the CCCET found that the challenge filed by Rachel Davis on September 14 did not establish by a preponderance of the evidence that a violation of the procedures serious enough to have potentially altered the outcome of the election had occurred.
By a 5-0 vote, the members present found that the challenge filed by Kimberly McMillian on September 23 was not timely as it was received more than 72 hours after the conduct forming the basis for the challenge.
