Dear President Skorton,<br /><br />It is my responsibility to convey to you U.A. Resolution 6: Divestment from Companies producing Fossil Fuels and Holding Fossil Fuel Reserves as Mr. Blair recused himself from leadership during the debate of this resolution.<br /><br />This resolution was sponsored by Jeffrey Bergfalk, Emma Johnston, Martin Hatch, and Robert Howarth from our Campus Infrastructure Committee as well as Sarah Balik, Ronald Booker, Ellis Loew, and Catherine Wong from the main assembly.<br /><br />The Resolution calls upon the Board of Trustees to instruct the Investment Office to divest Cornell's endowment from the one hundred (100) largest public oil and one hundred (100) largest public coal companies by December 31, 2035.<br /><br />Furthermore, the Resolution also requests that an annual report be given to all the Assemblies and Faculty Senate providing an update on the University's progress towards both climate neutrality and divestment.<br /><br />As the resolution requests action be taken by the Board of Trustees, I respectfully request that you forward this resolution to them for their awareness.<br /><br />Thank you for your time, have a good day.<br /><br />On behalf of the Assembly,<br />~Matthew
