Dear Nicholas,
Thank you for conveying GPSA R3: Call for Protection and Increased Support of Cornell University Library. I appreciate—and share—the GPSA’s perspective on the importance of the Library to the university’s mission.
The university is experiencing unprecedented financial pressures, which compel us to make difficult decisions in the service of protecting our ability to pursue our mission in the long term. These necessary changes to budgets across Cornell are being made with careful thought to minimize the impact on our students’ experiences, and on our staff and faculty.
This is a challenging time for the university, and for higher education, and I’m grateful for our community’s ongoing commitment to our mission and values.
