Dear Ocean,
Thank you for conveying to me Graduate and Professional Student Assembly - Resolution 5 (2024-2025): GPSA Recommendations on Cornell University's Disciplinary Actions Towards Graduate Student Worker Sriram Parasurama. The federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) protects the records of individual students, and I therefore cannot speak to an individual student’s specific conduct matter.
However, I can say that in all student conduct cases, without exception, the Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards follows the Student Code of Conduct and Code Procedures. The Student Code and Code Procedures clearly lay out expectations for personal responsibility for behavior by Cornellians, provide all student respondents with robust process rights, including the right to review all relevant evidence collected during the investigation, and provide the university with appropriate mechanisms to protect the university community.
Sincerely,
Michael Kotlikoff
