Whereas, the Ivy+ Summit represents a major collaborative convening of Ivy League and peer institutions, requiring multi-year planning, coordination, and institutional knowledge continuity.

Whereas, Cornell University is scheduled to host the Ivy+ Summit in October 2027, necessitating early preparation to ensure the event reflects Cornell’s academic strengths, studentleadership, and institutional priorities.

Whereas, hosting the Ivy+ Summit offers Cornell University the opportunity to welcome Ivy League and Ivy+ peer institutions with the same spirit of collaboration, respect, and partnership that Cornell has experienced as a guest at previous Ivy+ convenings.

Whereas, successful execution of large-scale, inter-institutional summits requires sustained planning beyond the scope of a single academic year or executive term.

Whereas, graduate and professional student involvement is essential to ensuring meaningful student representation, programming relevance, and operational support for the Ivy+ Summit.

Whereas, the establishment of a time-bound special committee allows for focused work, structured accountability, and continuity across multiple GPSA administrations.

Be it therefore resolved, that the Graduate and Professional Student Assembly establish a Special Committee for Ivy+ Summit Planning charged with supporting the preparation and coordination of the Ivy+ Summit to be hosted by Cornell University in October 2027.

Be it further resolved, that the Special Committee’s responsibilities shall include early strategic planning and timeline development for the Ivy+ Summit, coordination with Cornell administration, relevant campus partners, and Ivy+ peer institutions, documentation and knowledge transfer to ensure continuity across GPSA leadership transitions, advising future GPSA executives and planning committees on summit-related decisions, and shall be guided by a proposed Planning Timeline & Budget Framework provided for reference.

Be it further resolved, that the Special Committee shall begin its work in Spring 2026 andcontinue through Fall 2027, at which point its formal charge shall conclude unless extended by the Graduate and Professional Student Assembly.

Be it further resolved, that the Special Committee shall operate independently of standing GPSA committees while maintaining regular communication with the Executive Committee to ensure alignment with GPSA priorities.

Be it finally resolved, that the Graduate and Professional Student Assembly adopt this resolution and formally establish the Special Committee for Ivy+ Summit Planning.
