    Dear Cat,

Thank you for conveying Resolution 16: In Support of the Cornell University Caribbean Students' Association's Demands. Decisions regarding academic programs, such as development of minors or majors, originate from the faculty, and these decisions happen in consultation with the relevant college dean. Proposals for a Caribbean studies minor would have to go through this process. I do note that, as you are aware, the proposal for a Minor in Caribbean Studies has garnered the support of members of the faculty of the Latino Studies Program, and the African Studies and Research Center, as well as from members of the leadership of the College of Arts & Sciences.

I’ve asked Provost Kotlikoff to provide you with an update on the academic initiatives related to the resolution below.

Thank you again for conveying this resolution, and for being part of our community’s ongoing work toward a more equitable Cornell.

    Sincerely,

    Martha E.  Pollack
