Dear President Garrett,
I would like to convey Resolution 20: Preferred Name on ID Card to Promote LGBTQ+ Inclusivity to you. This resolution was sponsored by Philip Titcomb and Dustin Liu. This resolution aims to create a safer and more inclusive environment for LGBTQ+ students by allowing the use of a preferred name other than their legal first name and indication of preferred gender identity on campus records. Further, there has been a Preferred Gender and Sexual Identity working group that has been established after the passing of the resolution, through the University Registrar and LBGT Resource Center as co-leads.
Thank you for the time and consideration.
Kind regards
Juliana
