Dear Jordan,
I acknowledge receipt of Student Assembly Resolution 30: Affirming Cornell’s Stance on Supporting the Rights of Transgender Individuals, and am appreciative of the Student Assembly’s support for Cornell’s existing policies and guidelines allowing students, staff, faculty and visitors to use the restroom or facility that corresponds to their gender identity.
In response to the United States Department of Justice and Department of Education’s withdrawal of previous guidance on inclusive restroom/facilities use, Cornell has reaffirmed our stance via the Title IX website, and Vice President Lombardi reiterated our principles on gender discrimination in an email to all students on March 5, 2017.
Thank you for your work on this important issue.
Sincerely,
Hunter Rawlings
