    Dear Anuli,
     
    Thank you for conveying to me Student Assembly Resolution 32: Calling on Cornell University to Appropriately Recognize and Honor Veterans Day. Although Cornell University held classes on Veterans Day, and November 11 remains a regular workday for staff, we were glad to be able to recognize and honor our faculty, staff, and student veterans in several ways this year.
     
    Cornell hosted a Veterans Day celebration that included a concert for the Cornell Veterans Colleague Network Group, a guided walking tour of our veterans’ memorials, and, at 11:11 a.m., a 21-bell salute honoring our veterans. The event concluded with a talk by Brigadier General Joseph Biehler. A special concert was also held for the Cornell University Student Veteran Ambassadors. And at sunset, as is our tradition, clockfaces on campus were illuminated as part of the Greenlight a Vet campaign.
     
    As you know, the Cornell Undergraduate Veterans Association hosts events and promotes resources for undergraduate, graduate, and professional student veterans; the Cornell Veterans Colleague Network Group welcomes graduate and professional students among its members and at its events; and on Veterans Day 2020, the Cornell Military Network was launched to promote and organize military-affiliated Cornell alumni across generations.
     
    I know that many students are involved in efforts to support veterans at Cornell throughout the year, including by planning events for Veterans Day. I appreciate their hard work and dedication.
