Whereas, the Cornell Student Assembly is colloquially referred to as the “SA” by the greater student body,

Whereas, “SA” can also refer to Sexual Assault,

Whereas, the attempt to rebrand Cornell Student Assembly to just “Assembly” had little to no impact in regard to perception by the student body,

Whereas, Student Government and shared governance at Cornell University should be held with a higher general regard and respect,

Be it therefore resolved, the Cornell Student Assembly be officially renamed to the Cornell Student Senate,

Be it further resolved, each instance of the term “Student Assembly” or “Assembly” be replaced with “Student Governance Assembly”,

Be it finally resolved, that other than a change in nomenclature, all other functions, roles, and responsibilities of this governing body remain consistent.

    Respectfully Submitted,

    Eeshaan Chaudhuri ‘27
Vice Chair of Operations, University Assembly

    Cion Kim ‘27
College of Engineering Representative, Student Assembly

    Zora deRham ‘27
    President of the Student Assembly
