Summary / Notes:
Dear Acting President Kotlikoff, I would like to convey Resolution 42: Calling for Implementation of Open Syllabi to you. This resolution is sponsored by Alexis Pollito, Varun Devatha, Justin Selig, Dale Barbaria, Gabe Kaufman, and Jung Won Kim. The resolution recommends that professors upload a copy or draft of their syllabi online before pre-enroll period. This resolution is in response to "Resolution 29: Calling for the Implementation of Open Course Evaluation" from the 2014-15 AY. President Skorton returned the resolution because of the variance in practice by the different colleges and the fact that student evaluations of professors and classes are only one element of successful teaching. The sponsors, after consultation, believe one of the most important piece of information a student can obtain before enrolling in a course is a copy of the syllabus. The sponsors recommend where applicable and appropriate, that professors upload a digital copy of the syllabus to the information section of the official Class Roster Website before the pre-enroll period begins. Thank you for the time and consideration. Kind regards, Juliana
