    Dear President Skorton,

I would like to convey Resolution 59: SA Bylaw Changes (attached in its final form) and Resolution 60: S.A. Standing Rule Changes to you. These resolutions were sponsored by Emma Johnston, our Executive Vice President-elect, Juliana Batista, our President-elect, and Jordan Berger, our Parliamentarian.

The purpose of these resolutions is to restructure the SA's committees and executive committee's Vice President positions in order to streamline many of our processes. Two years ago, we passed a resolution to restructure and combine several of our committees, which we thought would be ideal because we had many small committees with low membership. After two years of trying this structure, we have concluded that our committees lack clear purpose and are often stretched too thin. Now, these resolutions seek to separate and reorganize several of the committees that were previously condensed. We believe that this structure will allow for more effective creation and vetting of initiatives and legislation. Improved recruiting efforts on the part of the committee chairs, and the creation of direct reports for committee chairs will ensure that our committees have thriving memberships and successful initiatives.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

    Best,
    Sarah
