Whereas, academic transcripts and records are foundational documents in students’ professional development and future opportunities,
Whereas, the accuracy of individual assignment grades directly contributes to course grades and cumulative GPA, making that accuracy essential to a student’s academic standing,
Whereas, errors in grading individual assignments can lead into inaccurate final grades that are then permanently reflected on official transcripts,
Whereas, students are frequently unaware of their graded assignment scores until a final grade is posted on their transcript, leaving them unable to identify or dispute potential errors in a timely manner,
Whereas, limited knowledge on graded work deprives students of helpful feedback on their academic progress, undermining the learning environment and their ability to improve throughout the semester,
Be it therefore resolved, that the Student Assembly recommends that faculty publish all graded assignments through Canvas, Gradescope, or another accessible platform prior to the submission of final grades to Student Center, in order to ensure grading accuracy, promote academic transparency, and preserve the integrity of students' official records.
