Whereas, the Student Assembly’s reserve account is over $400,000,
Whereas, the Student Assembly faces a cut in the proposed Student Activity Fee, and will need disbursements from reserves to sustain the Student Assembly’s operating budget in the next two years,
Whereas, these reserves have already been used to support by-line organizations including the ALANA Intercultural Board,
Whereas, recently proposed resolutions use the Student Assembly’s reserves to support the Multicultural Greek Fraternal Council (MGFC),
Whereas, the sustained health of the reserves is necessary to continue to support organizations who face cuts in the proposed Student Activity Fee,
Whereas, the Student Assembly has already pulled $25,000 from the reserves to refill the Special Projects fund,
Be it therefore resolved, the Student Assembly shall not use funds from the Student Assembly’s reserves to refill the Special Projects fund for the remainder of this academic year.
Be it further resolved, the Student Assembly shall still be able to reallocate funds from the operating budget into the Special Projects Fund.
