Dear President Rawlings,
It is my pleasure to convey to you U.A. Resolution 9 "2015-2016 Cornell University Campus Code of Conduct Update."
This resolution was sponsored by the Chair of our Codes & Judicial Committee, Undergraduate Gabriel Kaufman. It was passed by the full Assembly at our meeting of April 26, 2016.
This update to our Campus Code of Conduct focuses one three areas. First, it incorporates recommendations from the Outdoor Space Working Group, a body convened by President Skorton to address incongruities concerning outdoor space usage on campus, with recommendations approved by President Garrett, into to the Code. Second, it increases the size of the panelist pool for the University Hearing and Review boards. Finally, the update increases the clarity of appeals processes for interim measures such as temporary suspensions in cases that do not fall under University Policy 6.4.
