Hi Cornell! I’m Akshara Keshri, a pre-law Psychology major in CAS with big dreams, big aura, and of course, big Big Red pride.
Coming here felt like entering Season 2 with zero context and a few Big Red Flags in the plot. But somewhere between finding my people and finding my pace, I realized everyone here is dealing with something, even if it doesn’t look like it.
I’m running to make sure undergrads are actually heard in the decisions affecting us every day.
There are a few things I really want to push for. Prelim season should be structured better so students aren’t overwhelmed all at once. We should have more access to recorded lectures, and more transparency when it comes to grading and expectations.
The day-to-day stuff matters too: late-night food options, reliable TCAT, fewer long lines, and yes, more affordable printing, PE classes, and laundry.
And this is the psych major in me, but mental health support shouldn’t feel impossible, it should be easier to access.
If we can weather the 67 degree drops in the weather, we can weather anything. Together, let’s make sure every Cornellian truly thrives on the Hill.
Vote Akshara Keshri, for belonging, for community, for that main character moment every Big Red deserves.

I've spent two years on the University Assembly turning student concerns into real policy at Cornell.
I authored a resolution for dedicated mental health rest days and I led the push for funding free feminine hygiene products across campus, because academic excellence demands we protect wellbeing. Through committee work, I've fought for safer cycling infrastructure on campus for the hundreds of students now and in the future who bike on campus.
More importantly, when the administration moved to revise the Student Code of Conduct without meaningful student input, I was part of the movement that pushed back, because shared governance is our right.
I know this institution, and I know University Assembly: its processes, its people, and where it has room to grow. My wealth of institutional knowledge only matters if it can continue to be put to work.
Students continue to need a real voice at the table, now more than ever. Vote Tarala for University Assembly.
